Some Of The Most Popular Board Games In The World

Sunday, December 6th, 2009

People all around the world play board games, and they have the advantages of being very cheap and fun. Of all the games out there, though, the most commonly played and well recognized is definitely chess. Particularly in countries with low living standards, chess is very well known, and there are thousands of people that play it competitively. The theory of the game is also very extensive - when you play chess seriously, you need to know the theory of all the major openings, and this takes a lot of work. A lot of the game is also based on pattern recognition.

Since chess takes a lot of work, many people prefer to just play monopoly, which is another very successful board game. There is also far less skill in monopoly, and less thinking required. The rules are also fairly simple, so it’s a great game to play in social occassions. Interestingly, there are people that play Monopoly really competitively, but it’s mostly just a casual game people play for fun. You can find a monopoly set at just about any apartment store these days.

Aside from chess and monopoly, another very popular board game would be scrabble. Scrabble has the advantage of really increasing your vocabulary and keeping your mind active (it has often been observed that playing scrabble reduces the risk of alzheimer’s disease, for example). It generally isn’t played as much as monopoly, but it can be a good game to try out sometimes. The rules are also fairly simple and easy to learn.

Breathalyser

Breathalyzer tests for measuring alcohol in breath are a reliable method ofmeasuring blood or breath alcohol levels.  Disposable alcohol testing kits and digital breath alcohol tests are suitablefor use in businesses, by healthcare professionals or for in the home.  The majority of people use them to check against the drink drive limit. In the UK this is 80mg/dl or 0.08% BAC (blood alcohol concentration).

Electronic Breath Alcohol Testing Units

If you are screening for alcohol on a regular basis, it is more cost effective to purchase an electronic breathalyzer unit. Breath alcohol units use individual mouthpieces to ensure that every test is as accurate as the last.

 Don’t risk drinking and driving!

Breathalyzer Tests - A brilliant commercial version of the “blow in the bag” breathalyzer used by the British Police.

The Home Office Approved personal Breathalyzer testing units are a portable modification of the basic roadside breathalyser used by the British Police Forces for many years. It uses yellow crystals which turn green in the presence of any alcohol in breath in order to test patients to a pre-determined level.

This is the breathalyzer most regularly used when carrying out pre-employment, random or accident based workplace employee drug and alcohol testing.

The most accurate time to use these tests is in the morning to see if you are under the limit enough to drive, this is because if you use them while you are still drinking alcohol the test won’t be accurate because alcohol will be in your stomach but not yet in your blood stream or breath, so you could be under the limit when you test yourself but 10 minutes later, you could be over the limit.
