Movie Reviews : What’s So Special About These Anyway

Thursday, June 25th, 2009

Movie reviews are basically an opinion passed about new movies by someone who is qualified to objectively assess a movie from an artistic standpoint. The film critic, as he is known, should also be able to judge about the moral suitability of the movie. He should be able to analyze the way the film is likely to influence societal values.

Broken down into its elements a movie review first discusses the plot without going into details. In the process the film reviewer gives his opinion on how interesting and logical the movie plot is. Then he discusses the performances of the various actors in the movie. How real were they and whether they were convincing in their roles? He is also supposed to say something about the sound, photography and editing.

In the process of reviewing a movie the film critic should be careful in not giving away too much of the plot or the various surprises and twists in the film. That way the review reader could become a potential moviegoer.

It is also the job of movie reviews to enlighten the people on aspects of a good movie. He should make it clear to the reader why does he think a certain movie is not all that good and why does he think a certain movie good. He should appear at all times unbiased in his appraisal of a movie.

However, movie reviewing remains a hazardous business since it is after all the opinion of one person. Then again movie making involves so many functions and disciplines that rating all of them to pass a judgment is an onerous task for the best of movie reviewers. Mistakes will be made but an experienced reviewer of integrity is certainly more reliable than run of the mill types.

And with the advent of readily downloadable movies these days, you could just read a review of almost any movie online, download it within a few minutes and watch it right on your computer !

Questech Sandgate and Dorset Collection

Thursday, June 25th, 2009

Leading backsplash tile supplier My Tile Backsplash is pleased to announce the addition of both the Sandgate and Dorset Collection from Questech to there vast selection of backsplash material.

The Sandgate and Dorset Collection offers an array of decorative accents in both a natural stone and a metal look. Each Series has three different categories within each of the Sandgate and Dorset lines.

Questech Metals - Questech invented a breakthrough technology, a process for casting beautiful metal objects at a fraction of the weight and cost of solid metals. This discovery led to the launch of the industry’s first mass produced metal tiles, creating an important new category in the tile and home improvement markets. The difference between the two series of Sandgate and Dorset Collections is the style offerings between them. The colors that are offered are the same, just different designs between the two series.

Questech Cast Stone - Questech broke the mold again, with their revolutionary product of the cast stone series. These decorative pieces have a resemblance of natural stone with the look of travertine and marble. The product offering in this category is phenomenal. The selection includes everything from a 2″ x 2″ to a large 16″ x 24″ mural. Again, the color offering between the Sandgate and the Dorset collection are the same, just the different designs associated with each series.

Questech Natural Stone - This includes a factory-sealed tumbled marble collection offered in both Castle Wheat and Casa Emperador. Tumbled marble tiles have better wear properties, warmer feels, softer appearance and a matte finish. Tumbled Marble with Q-Seal provides a built-in anti-bacterial protection. Ultra-Fresh inhibits the growth of stain and odor causing mold and mildew. It is factory applied and will not lose its effectiveness over time. The added anti-bacterial protection makes the tiles ideal for showers, tub surrounds and kitchen backsplashes. They will never be the worry of having to reseal the tiles or worry about special stone cleaners.

As with all the products from Questech, each and every one of the products is sealed with their Q-Seal. The fear of sealing or water-damaged products does not exist with the Questech product line.

Fight Free Radical Damage With Calcium Ascorbate Vitamin C

Thursday, June 25th, 2009

Ascorbate calcium is the calcium salt form of ascorbic acid (also known as vitamin C) that is used to prevent and treat scurvy, a vitamin C deficiency. Vitamin C may also be used in persons with chronic illness, burns, certain blood disorders, or as dietary supplement for general health and wellness.

Calcium aascorbate vitamin C is an innovative form of vitamin C. It is a patented, non-acidic vitamin C with metabolites. Calcium Ascorbate provides the important benefits of vitamin C to your immune system, joints, heart, eyes, skin and is even beneficial for many pets. Calcium Ascorbate is the only vitamin C with metabolites. Vitamin C metabolites result from the natural oxidation of ascorbic acid (vitamin C) that occurs during a proprietary manufacturing process. A preliminary study suggests that the metabolites in Calcium Ascorbate help it to work differently than ordinary vitamin C because it is non-acidic.

Vitamin C as calcium ascorbate is an acid neutralized (pH 6.7) form of vitamin C and therefore gentle on your stomach and non-irritating to the digestive system. Calcium Ascorbate is natural, free of GMOs (genetically modified organisms), cruelty free, free of allergens, chemicals and artificial ingredients. Calcium Ascorbate is Kosher- and Halal-certified.

Vitamin C plays a vital role in the formation of collagen (a structural protein in connective tissue), amino acid metabolism and hormone synthesis, and the utilization of many nutrients, such as folic acid and iron. It is also a key factor in the body’s immune system.

Vitamin C also comes in at least two other forms, chemically bonded to minerals as ascorbates, and to the fat palmitic acid, as ascorbyl palmitate which is a fat soluble version of vitamin C. Both of these forms are non-acidic.

Ascorbic acid is the acidic form of vitamin C, and even when encapsulated can cause gastric upset or diarrhea for some people. This can often be alleviated by consuming it with meals.

This is why calcium ascorbate is the preferred form of vitamin C for most individuals unless regular ascorbic acid has been taken and found to not affect the digestive system. Look for calcium ascorbate in capsule, tablet, or bulk powder forms at your local or internet health food store. Always select a name brand vitamin to ensure quality and purity of the product you purchase.

Always consult with your professional health care provider before changing any medication or adding Vitamins to medications.
