Facial Exercise and its Wonders

Wednesday, May 27th, 2009

Exercise is a proven and effective way to keep the body healthy and young looking. It makes the muscles strong, firm and resilient, which has a very good effect on skin health. Our face is also made up of muscles. And yes, we can work them out, too.

Facial exercise contributes to the redefining of the cheekbones, jaw lines and the nose. The papery skin present around the neck and under the eyes is alleviated in the process. And the lips become fuller. All these can be achieved at a lesser cost.

According to studies, as one moves frequently, at least 15 hours a day, will put all the fifty-seven muscles in the face work. As tensions and stress are absorbed by the face, these tensed facial muscles will inhibit the flow and circulation of the blood. This is where one would find the facial exercise helpful as it will increase blood circulation to the face. It will permit more oxygen and nutrients to reach the cells whisking the old and damaged ones. The ability of the skin to absorb moisture is then increased which gives one a healthy and cleaner skin.

Exercise keeps the body healthy and even combats the effects of aging. It tones the body, making the muscles and skin firm and resilient. The facial muscles when exercised will also have the same result.

To have the most satisfying results, few things are needed to be kept in mind while undergoing the facial exercise program. Too much scrubbing on the face can do damage. Downward scrubbing motion is advised while cleansing the face. Leaning the head on the hand is also strongly discouraged as well as using straw while drinking and squinting too often. These may thwart the chances of you having a wrinkle-free skin.

Nature has an unkind way of showing the signs of aging. But no matter how developed these lines are, it’s still possible to get rid of them, or at least, minimize them. Ironically, there’s a way that’s also natural. Complicated facial treatments are very expensive. Looking good and young is not easy especially for old people. But the right facial exercise can somehow delay the process. Coupled with a balanced diet, right water consumption, and proper skin care, one can completely overcome the wrinkle problem.
