Why Do Sit Ups Get a Bad Reputation

Thursday, April 9th, 2009

If you have ever worked out in your life time or have watched some sort of television show where people were working out, then you already know that sit ups can be a great work out for your abdominal area. There are plenty of people and products out there that may say different but as an old school person, I know that you should incorporate sit ups some where in your work out regime if you are look to stay tone in your abdominal area. Now this is not to say that this is the only type of ab exercise that you should do because there are plenty of other exercises out there that will give you a pretty hearty ab workout. But you should never forget the sit up and make it part of your work out.

Sit ups have gotten a bad reputation over the years and the reason why is so many people use the wrong technique. If you are using the wrong technique when doing your sit ups there are several things that will go wrong. For one, you will not see the results that you want. Many people need to lose abs fat correctly. Many people who use the wrong technique will do so many sets of sit ups but will not see a difference when looking in the mirror. Second, you could really hurt yourself. Some who use the wrong technique when going their sit ups end up injuring other parts of their bodies. This is certainly less than ideal. You want to make sure that you consult the proper person before doing your sit ups to make sure that you are doing them correctly.

Another reason that people gives sit ups a bad rap is that they are doing way too many sit ups for their level of workout. There has been a big craze on television for a while which are shows that feature people that are working out. Also, people can buy work out tapes and videos and work out in the comfort of their own homes. Well, usually these people feature professionals that have been doing this sort of thing for many many years. They make sit ups look really easy because it is their job and it probably is pretty easy for them. When people loose abs fat it can be a great thing. Do not go following behind a professional who does this sort of thing for a living and try to do advanced techniques when you are a beginner. It can only lead to bad things down the road.

The last reason people tend to give sit ups a bad rap is that they take time in order to work. We are in a society that wants everything right now and if not we do not want it. Well, the truth is sit ups are not going to show a great deal of improvement in the mirror unless you continue to do them over a good amount of time. Most people work out for a new years resolution or when it is time for bathing suit season. Do most people diet to lose belly fat or do they exercise? They give themselves a month or two to get into tip top shape and if it does not work within that month then they give up. Well, it will take more than a month or two to see the difference that sit ups can make for you. But the truth is, if you have patience and stick to your plan, you will eventually see a big difference.

Sex Lies and Search Engine Results Pages

Thursday, April 9th, 2009

Search engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN have changed tremendously over the last decade. Algorithms used to deliver results to the millions of searchers each day have become very smart at determining searchers intent. Delivering the most accurate results possible makes the searcher happy and guarantees the searcher will return to that search engine the next time they need information. The ability to deliver the most accurate results possible is why many believe Google has been able to dominate the search market. Google’s market share as of January of 2008 toped 65%. This percentage reflects tens of millions of people searching on Google every day.

So what are these people searching for? but searches for consumer goods, services and information grow exponentially every year. Google announced in 2008 that approximately 48% of all searches logged are first time search phrases not entered into the search field before. This means that people are constantly finding new things to search for.

All of these searches have created a growing industry. Businesses of all sizes rely on Internet searches for a wide variety of revenue generating opportunities. A new and growing industry, search engine optimization and submission services actually helps businesses and people to optimize the web pages they have on the Internet so they can be found in searches. From individuals to large search agencies, online visibility is big business and highly sought after by those who understand the importance of being found online.

In the most recent months, a new industry is rapidly developing on the Internet. Managing your reputation has rapidly becoming sought after from individuals and businesses who have developed a “bad reputation” online. This happens routinely for some. The popularity of complaint sites has fueled the need for such services as more and more people have found a voice on such sites and can freely complain about stated wrongs or “rip offs” they feel they have endured, real or imagined.

Search engines are becoming smarter, faster and a tool many people cannot go without. New trends such as local search, the process of delivering local businesses for a search result, user intent, developed from the ability of search engines to search a computer to understand what topics and subjects you are interested in to deliver better online search results and the constant improvement of the search results page to present results in the most advantageous way possible insure the life of search as we know it is long and strong.

5 Causes Of Thinning Hair

Thursday, April 9th, 2009

There can be a multitude of causes of thinning hair but not all necessarily mean you are going bald, and we are going to go through some of these in detail today, but before we do that lets have a quick look at hair growth and also a little test you can do to check if you are losing your hair.

At any one time approximately ninety percent of your hair is growing and the other ten is resting. It is when your hair is resting that it is likely to fall out so if all of a sudden you see a lot of hair in the plughole or on your comb then this may be the reason why.

A quick little test that you can do to check if you are going bald and it is known as the tug test. Basically all the tug test is is to take about 20 or so strands of hair between thumb and forefinger and pull slowly and firmly. If you lose about 6 strands or so then you may be going bald.

Now that we have covered that, let us look at 5 possible reasons behind hair loss :-

1 Ageing- unfortunately part of life is getting older, and one of the downsides of this is that when we age we start to lose our hair, for some hair loss can start as early as late teens but for a lot of people hair loss really happens between the ages of 20-50

2 Medications- If you are on medication then sometimes this can also have an effect on your hair and may cause it to fall out. Some drugs used for things like antidepressants, contraception, arthritis and even antibiotics have been linked with hair loss and there are more you could add to that list. Also if you are unlucky enough to be going through any kind of radiation or chemotherapy then you will be aware that will have an effect on your hair too.

3 Illness- Being ill can have many side effects on the body in general. However there are certain ailments which seem to be directly linked with hair loss and included amongst them are problems with the Thyroid gland, diabetes, lupus and scalp fungal infections. Again there are probably more that you can add to the list but if you have started losing hair and you are ailing from something then there may be a link.

4 Poor Circulation– Hair like anything in the body needs to nourished to thrive, and poor circulation can have a negative effect on your hair because it means not enough oxygen and red blood cells are getting to the scalp to the follicles

5 Stress- Stress can have a significant impact on hair loss, although the good news is this is likely to be temporary. What can happen is that if you are under severe stress it can cause more of your hair than normal to go into the resting phase and because of this a higher percentage than usual of them all fall out around the same time

These are just a few of the things that can be behind what causes baldness, however the list is not exhaustive and if you are concerned about hair loss then you may want to seek expert advice or do further research into ways how to prevent hair loss.
