PCMover From LapLink Migrates Your Files With No Fuss

Thursday, October 16th, 2008

I recommend PCMover to everyone I know migrating to a new PC. PCMover will determine which programs, files, and settings need to be moved, and when the transfer is complete, your new computer will have the personality and functionality of your old PC plus all of its own pre-installed software. Now with PCMover’s selectivity features, you can choose which applications, folders and files to take with you when you migrate to your new PC. PCMover can migrate your PC across a network, LapLink USB cable, LapLink parallel cable, Windows Easy Transfer Cable, or any type of removable media that can be read by both PCs. If your computer has multiple users, PCMover gives you the option to migrate some or all of the users at once.

PC Mover software boasts a lot, as it should given the task it sets out to complete. Their goal is to save you hours or days worth of work by simply transferring everything to the new machine. PCMover automatically moves selected files, folders, settings, and even applications from an old PC to a new one. It’s the top selling migration product and is widely regarded as the best migration solution available. Configuration of PCMover was easy, it takes about 5 minutes after you install the software on each PC, and then you just start the transfer and walk away.  It took about 4 hours to move 17GB worth of data and programs, but the old PC has USB 1.1 (low speed) ports.  I imagine it’s much faster with USB 2 ports on both ends.  The included USB cable is a high-speed USB interface (you can also transfer via network, but even low speed USB is faster than 100MB).

Tips for acquiring a pug dog

Thursday, October 16th, 2008

One of today’s most popular dog breeds is the Pug and anyone who is thinking about adding one to their family should become familiar with the specifics of pug dog health care. The Pug breed is a dog breed that has a long history with man, thousands of years worth, but only became an “official” breed in 1885, when it was recognized as part of the AKC Toy group. Curly tails, thickset bodies, and flat wrinkly face are all distinguishable traits of a Pug. The standard height for Pugs is 10 to 14 inches, while the weight is around 13 to 20 pounds. Many of the things that make these dogs so cute are the very things that cause them so many health care problems, so extra care has to be taken.

Check the folds of skin for signs of the infections that commonly plague the breed, and if you see any, take the dog to the veterinarian immediately. You should bathe and clean your pet regularly - particularly making sure you clean in between the wrinkles, removing any dirt or debris because that can cause bacteria build up (which could lead to infection).

Another factor which could cause pug dog health problems is its eyes. It is because of the unique shape and design of the fact that the eyes are not protected as well as other dogs, and therefore are susceptible to injury and other problems. Look for any inflammation in the eye regularly and take the dog to the Vet immediately if you identify any problem in the surrounding area.

If their owner permits it, Pugs will eat excessively. Always watch your dog’s food intake and keep him at a healthy weight, as a negative weight can affect a dog as badly as it can a human. Heat can bother a Pug a lot, so shade is very important to any Pug left outside, and they should never be left in a car during the summer. Never leave the breed in high heat for very long, because this will cause the dog to have difficulty in breathing.

Like any dog, taking proper care of your pet and taking him to the vet for regular visits is the best way to insure good pug dog health. These adorable little dogs will provide many years of happiness for the companions that take care of them responsible.
