Solving Female Problems with Probiotics

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

The term “probiotics” refers to dietary supplements or foods that contain beneficial, or “good,” bacteria that are similar to those normally found in your body. We would normally ingest these probiotic bacteria by eating raw foods. But in today’s society many women just are not getting enough raw fruits and vegetables to help resupply their bodies.

Much like the intestinal tract, the vaginal environment is a finely balanced ecosystem and probiotics may also help vaginal problems much like it has shown in helping with instestinal problems. Probiotic treatment that restores the balance of the good bacteria may be helpful for such common female problems like bacterial vaginosis, yeast infection, and urinary tract infection.

The dominant probiotic Lactobacilli strains normally make the vagina too acidic for harmful bacteria and yeast to thrive. Your vaginal enviroment can easily be thrown out of balance by a number of influences that can include antibiotics, spermicides, and birth control pills just to name a few.

Oral and vaginal administration of the probiotic Lactobacilli may help in the treatment of bacterial vaginosis or yeast infections, although doctors say there isn’t enough evidence yet to recommend it over antibiotics prescribed by doctors.

There is evidence that probiotics have been show to be helpful in boosting the general health of the body and with the following problems:

  • Treat diarrhea, especially following treatment with certain antibiotics
  • Prevent and treat vaginal yeast infections and urinary tract infections
  • Treat irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
  • Reduce bladder cancer recurrence
  • Shorten the duration of intestinal infections
  • Prevent and treat inflammation following colon surgery (pouchitis)
  • Delay or prevent allergies in children
  • Prevent eczema in children

More research is needed to confirm the effectiveness of probiotics. As with any dietary or herbal supplement, consult your doctor before starting any new treatment.

How To Make A Debt Consolidation Loan Help You

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

If you are starting to struggle keeping up with your monthly bills, possibly because you have so many different accounts to repay, or maybe your income is not sufficient to cover all your repayment requirements, it may be time to look at how a debt consolidation loan may be of assistance.

If you have lots of high interest loans or credit cards, you could benefit greatly from a debt consolidation loan. Not only will you save money by lowering the interest rate, you will now only have to make one monthly repayment which makes it all so much easier to manage your finances.

One other thing to bear in mind is that if you have several credit cards and you can only afford to pay the minimum monthly amount required, you may find that you are paying off those cards for the a very long time indeed. More often than not, the card companies design the minimum payment to repay all of the interest owed, but to pay very little off the actual capital balance. A previous article I wrote showed how it would take 97 years to pay off a credit card debt of £5,000 by just paying the minimum monthly requirement.

So, you have decided that consolidating your debtsis the best way forward. What you need to do now is to sit down and write down all of your debts on a piece of paper. Add the name of the creditor, the total balance owed, what you currently pay each month, what the minimum payment is, and how much interest you pay.

Having done all that and you know how much you need to consolidate all your debts, the next thing to do is apply for the loan.

If you are looking for less than £15,000 and have a clean credit history, you might be able to apply to your bank. However. if you are already behind with some payments, then you will probably need to look for a company that specialises in debt consolidation loans. As they also specialise in bad credit loans so usually cater for people with a poor credit history.

When you are offered a loan you may find that you are not able to borrow enough to clear all your debts. This being the case, you will need to weigh up which loans would be best to consolidate, and that the consolidation loan is actually going to be of benefit. If the new loan has a high interest rate, you may possibly not be helping yourself out financially. You need to weigh up what you will be paying for the new loan as opposed to what you are currently paying.

Once you have consolidated all of your debts, avoid building up more debt on credit cards and loans before you have paid off your loan. It often happens that people who get a debt consolidation loan later fall into the trap of using their credit cards again, long before the debt consolidation loan has been cleared.

If you do find that you require another loan, try to research the available loans as best you can in order to get the best rate loan available.

Lingo Phone Service Review

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

Each month brings a new service to VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol). Telephone service providers such as Vonage, Packet8, and AT&T among others are saturating the VoIP landscape.

A new player to this crowded space is Lingo, which comes close to beating the competition. Lingo offers the lowest monthly unlimited-minutes plan of all the VoIP packages starting at $19.95 per month. This plan includes not only the United States and Canada, but also many countries in western Europe.

International callers can take advantage of Lingo’s 30-day money back guarantee, plus you get the first month free. The Lingo installation process is very straightforward. When you sign up for Lingo’s service, the company sends you a proprietary Primus telephone adapter plus the complete package of setup instructions. Lingo Phone Service Review Website

Follow the setup instructions, which have you un-plug your broadband modem and router, connect the telephone adapter to an Ethernet port on your router, then power them back up in a specific order. When you start up, you will need to wait for the adapter to download the firmware. Be careful to read the instructions on this point because stopping the process can cause technical problems for your Internet connection.

If you have any set-up issues, you can always contact their technical support service. A big advantage is that you can manage the service all on-line. When online, you can log in to your account from Lingo’s website, where you can make changes to your accounts profile, contact support, and manage your account’s features.

You have to click in and out of a different page to change the settings for each feature. The forms are clear and easy to use.

Some of the more important features are: You can port your same phone number, have any area code, three-way calling, speed dial, call forwarding, simultaneous ring, anonymous call rejection (ACR), and do not disturb (*78)

The Good: Low monthly rates; standard unlimited-minutes plan includes countries in western Europe; offers an Asian calling plan; 911 support; virtual numbers.

The Bad: Occasional inconsistent call quality.

The Bottom Line: Lingo offers low rates that should appeal especially to international callers. Lingo Phone Service Review Blog Try it, You may like it.

Why would I use Personalised Printed Balloons?

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

If you are having a promotion or sale in your business or organisation you will want to attract as many people as possible to it! You have a few choices of course, advertising in newspapers, radio, TV, mail shots, etc. All of these options are expensive and lets face it don’t work very well, so what you need to do is come up with a way of having an effective and immediate impact on your target audience.

I am sure that printed balloons would not work well in certain situations, but I have yet to come across one. Our clients have included Dentists, Airlines, Funeral Directors, Breweries, Accountants, Political Parties, Hire companies, Churches, the list goes on and on.

So why would you want to use personalised imprinted balloons? Well there are two main reasons;

1/ They are bright and will attract lots of attention, for example if your shop is in the high street and you are having a sale then having hundreds of brightly coloured helium filled balloons carried through the town will certainly let people know that something is going on, and since people will almost certainly read the balloon then they will almost certainly know where to go for the sale.

2/ Kids love balloons; they will drag their parents to you if there is the prospect of getting a balloon. While the balloon is being inflated you will have a captive audience that you can talk to. If this opportunity is handled properly it can be very, very, powerful. You can read more about this at www.celebrationballoons.biz

Dog Food & Supplements: An In Depth Look At Nutrition For Your Pet

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

Big cans, little cans, heavy bags and cute packs, soft foods, dry food, semi-moist, candies, biscuits, chewies, people-like crackers and gourmet bon-bons…

Today’s dog owner is confronted with a bewildering array of food for his pet.

Years ago, when such a variety wasn’t available, dogs were fed foods that were most plentiful in the region. In the arctic, dogs were fed mostly fish and whale blubber; in the southern United States, a dog’s diet consisted mainly of cornbread; in Europe, potatoes were the main fare. These diets led to diseases such as black tongue (pelegra in humans), rickets, and other less commonly known ailments, many of them fatal.

In the wild, the canine did not just restrict himself to eating just the meat of his prey. He ate the entire animal, including the contents of the stomach. Wild dogs were known to kill each other while fighting over the stomach contents of their prey. Thus, nature provided the wild animal with a diet considered nutritionally complete.

Domesticated dogs were not allowed that luxury, and usually were fed table scraps. These poor diets resulted in serious nutritional imbalances and severe nutritional deficiencies.

After years of study, it was determined that even though the canine is considered a carnivorous animal, he requires certain carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins, and minerals to satisfy nutritional requirements just as humans do. And if you have a dog at home you should be cooking for it with dog treat recipes.

In 1953, the National Research Council compiled and published nutritional requirements for dogs. The NRC is a federally established scientific body whose basic function is gathering research data.

After World War II, the pet food industry in the United States began an enormous expansion. Already a highly competitive business, pet food manufacturers quickly found themselves in neck to neck competition for a piece of this multi-million dollar a year business.

In order to survive and successfully compete in the market, pet food manufacturers knew that they must provide a dog food which was:

A) Nutritionally complete; containing all 26 nutrients that the National Research Council said that does need.

B) Palatable so that the dog would enjoy eating the food.

C) Easy and convenient for the customer to handle.

D) Economically competitive in the market.

Pet food manufacturers have established laboratories and hired nutritionists and food technicians to select those ingredients, which, when combined, will provide the sufficient nutrition to meet NRC standards.
